Drones: The Future is Now

Come learn everything you ever needed to know about drones and their place in modern society.
  • Drones, otherwise known as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) or RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems), are here and they don't seem to be going away any time soon.  So come to the Library and learn everything you need to know about these futuristic robots.
  • Presenter Richard Koehler will discuss the rise of drone use, the rules and regulations governing drones, ethical considerations of drone use, how and when to use drones, and current controversies surrounding them.
  • Koehler will share videos and take-away information with program attendees, and drones will be on display but not flown because it is illegal to fly them at night.
  • Can't attend? This program may be streamed live online, courtesy of the Longmont Observer. You can view these livestreams on the Longmont Observer website and on its Facebook page. The program may also be recorded and available on our Watch Recent Programs page.
  • Registration is required and will open here on Monday, May 6 at 10 am.  No email address?  Call 303-651-8472 to register by phone.
