Longmont Recreation Center Maintenance Closure

The Longmont Recreation Center located at 310 Quail Rd, will be closed for annual maintenance from Sunday, August 25 – Sunday, September 1st and will re-open Monday, September 2 at 10 am to 4 pm, in observance of Labor Day.

Please visit the City's other Recreation facilities during the closure.  A complete list can be found by visiting the facility information webpage.

Fly Tying Workshop at Sandstone Ranch

Fly fishing is an outdoor sport enjoyed by men and women of all ages, all over the world. Retired fly fishing guide Jay Burge will teach participants how to tie three different flies. If you want to tie, bring your own vice and tools (bobbin, scissors, hackle pliers). Jay will supply the hooks and materials. 

Weather permitting, the talk will be outdoors on the east lawn at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center.  $2/child, $4/adult suggested donation collected at event. Call 303-651-8404 or visit the Recreation online registration page (keyword SSRVLC) to register. This workshop is most appropriate for ages 10+.


Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center is located just east of Longmont on Highway 119. The turn-off for the District Park and Visitors Center is one mile east of the Intersection of Highway 119 and Weld County Road 1. Drive south on Sandstone Drive (next to the football and soccer fields) and follow the directional signs to the Visitors Center/ Trailhead parking lot. Follow the walking trail down to the Visitors Center. Handicapped parking is available in front of the Visitors Center.
