Paints & a Passport

Traveling as Creative Inspiration

Paints-and-Passport-Program at the Library
  • Are you interested in creating while traveling? Or in using your journeys as inspiration for art or writing?
  • Join local artist Laura Garabedian to talk about the intersection of travel and creativity. She’ll share stories about creating on the go and storing inspiration for later, as well as weathering the inevitable hiccups of international and remote travel.
  • Laura’s most recent journey took her to China and Tibet with six other creatives. They hiked up the Himalayas in search for snow leopards, climbed ancient stairs in recently discovered ruins, and got their cars stuck in the snow. A lot! When they returned, Laura and her fellow travelers collaborated to produce an elaborate journal to share their adventures with others. Along with stories, Laura will bring photos, her own journals, and souvenirs from the trip so that others can hold her memories in their hands.
  • For adults and teens aged 16+.
  • Can't attend? This program may be streamed live online, courtesy of the Longmont Observer. You can view these livestreams on the Longmont Observer website and on its Facebook page. The program may also be recorded and available on our Watch Recent Programs page.
