The Library is hosting a virtual Variety Hour for teens.

  • Fridays, 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Webex
  • SPECIAL TOPIC THIS WEEK! Teen Tech Talk:  Your Digital Diet
  • Is Instagram listening to me? Is there really an FBI agent in my webcam? Why do advertisements for things I searched on my school computer show up on my phone? What data is being collected about me and what is it used for? Discuss and learn more about your data, who collects it, how it’s used, and how to protect it at this special session of Teen Virtual Variety Hour.
  • We will be discussing privacy and security online, including data collected by us on social media, and create a data privacy guide for other teens.
  • Special guest Janet Ruppert from CU Boulder will be joining us for this conversation.
  • And stay tuned for another session where we will continue our discussion of data collection. Second session topics may include: school surveillance, police surveillance, contact tracing technology, and more!
