Affolter Park is named after Frederick Affolter (1832-1895), a Swiss immigrant who settled in the St. Vrain Valley in 1862, and started a dairy farm. His ten children all graduated from Longmont High School and attended college, becoming prominent residents in the area. Affolter Park was named in 1973 and developed in 1978.
The park is 5.5 Acres in size and is east of Sunset Middle School and north of Indian Peaks Elementary School. To view a complete list of park amenities and associated trail distances, visit our Plans, Maps & Reports webpage and view the Park Amenities Chart.
