Learn to Code with Qubes at the Library

QuestBotics toys brings coding to life for kids in two Library programs

Post Date:09/29/2017 2:18 pm

The Library is offering an introductory workshop for children ages 6-10 who want to learn coding with QuestBotics. If you haven’t heard of Qubes, you’re a little late to the party. Qubes are simple components that visually help young coders understand the elements and processes of basic coding.  After partnering with local company QuestBotics to feature their educational coding toys in the Library’s tent at Rhythm on the River this year, demand for more Library workshops using them has been strong.  In answer, the Library is hosting two new coding workshops featuring QuestBotics’ toys on Saturday, October 21.  The first, “Intro to Coding with Qubes,” is from 1 to 2 pm and for children ages 6 to 10, and children age 8 and younger will need an accompanying parent.  The second workshop, “Level 1 – Calling All Eight Bit Artists,” will be held from 3 to 4 pm, is for kids ages 8 to 12, and delves slightly deeper into coding with Qubes. Both classes promise to be challenging, educational, and fun for both boys and girls. The classes are free, but advance registration is required, and can be accomplished online. No email address or internet?  Call (303) 651-8477 to register.

The Friends of the Longmont Library generously support library programs and services.
