Local Naturalists to Explore Year-Round Bird Watching
Boulder County home to dramatic variety of birds
Most local residents appreciate the wide array of wildlife present in Boulder County, but with bears and mountain lions in the mix, birds often get overlooked. However, a new program at the Longmont Public Library aims to give local bird varieties their due. On Thursday, March 28, from 7 to 8:30 pm, local naturalists with National History Program of the Boulder County Parks and Open Space department will highlight some of the amazing birds of Boulder County. From raptors to songbirds, they’ll explore where to best see and how to identify some of our local birds, as well as discuss the many challenges birds face here and how they adapt to the broad range of ecosystems and habitats found in Boulder County. Registration is required and can be accomplished online. Patrons without an email address may register by calling (303) 651-8472.
