CSP Officer Funeral Procession on Hwy 66

Anticipate traffic delays on Thursday, March 21 from 8:00a.m. until 9:30a.m.

The funeral procession for Trooper Dan Groves will depart at 8:00 a.m. from I-25 traveling west on Highway 66 for approximately seven miles to Lifebridge Church, (10345 Ute Highway) in Longmont. Lifebridge is located on the north side of Highway 66 just west of Main Street on the north end of Longmont.

Motorists should expect ALL north/south intersections along Highway 66 between I-25 and the church to be closed from 8:00a.m. until 9:30 a.m. All westbound lanes of Highway 66 will be utilized for the procession.  Closures will include (but are not limited to) Highway 287, Pace, Weld County Road 1, Weld County Road 3, Weld County Road 5. You may be delayed as long as 45 minutes.

Alternate routes might include Hover Road north or southbound (but not eastbound), I-25 north or south to Hwy 119, Colorado Blvd (WCR 13), 75th (into Hygiene), or 87th Street.

Colorado State Patrol Corporal Dan Groves died on March 13 when he was struck by a vehicle while responding to a motorist assist on I-76 in Weld County during last week’s blizzard. For residents interested, the service will be live-streamed on local news channels.
