The Future is Here, and It’s Flying Overhead
Drone program at the library to explore the presence of flying robots in modern society
Drones, otherwise known as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) or RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems), are here, and they don't seem to be going away any time soon. Love them or hate them, drones are an ever more present aspect of modern life. So come to the Library and learn everything you need to know about these futuristic, flying robots in the Library’s program, “Drones: The Future is Now,” on Thursday, June 6, from 7 to 8 pm. Presenter Richard Koehler will discuss the rise of drone use, the rules and regulations governing drones, ethical considerations of drone use, how and when to use drones, and current controversies surrounding them. Koehler will share videos and take-away information with program attendees, and drones will be on display but not flown because it is illegal to fly them at night. This program is open to adults, teens, and tweens. Registration is required and can be accomplished online. No email address? Call 303-651-8472.
