City Announces Precautionary Underpass Closures for this Weekend

UPDATE June 24, 9 am:
Here is an update on which underpasses are now open, and ones that remain closed:

OPEN UNDERPASSES:
• Spring Gulch #2 – 17th Avenue and Ute Creek Drive
• St. Vrain Greenway – At Airport Road
• St. Vrain Greenway – At Hover Street
• St. Vrain Greenway – At Price Road
• Dry Creek Greenway – At Airport Road
• Dry Creek Greenway – At Hover Road
• Left Hand Greenway – At Hover Road
• Left Hand Greenway – At Pike Road
• Left Hand Greenway – At Main Street
• Left Hand Greenway – At Ken Pratt Boulevard 

CLOSED UNDERPASSES
• St. Vrain Greenway – At Boston Avenue
• Dry Creek Greenway – At Grandview Meadows Drive
• Left Hand Greenway – At South Pratt Parkway


June 21 at 5 pm
The City of Longmont Park Operations will be closing most underpasses across the City of Longmont as a precaution, due to the likelihood of heavy precipitation in the weather forecast for the weekend and already high water levels. Staff has decided to close the following underpasses June 21, 2019 through June 23, 2019 for the safety of the public:

  • Spring Gulch #2 – 17th Avenue and Ute Creek Drive
  • St. Vrain Greenway – At Airport Road
  • St. Vrain Greenway – At Hover Street
  • St. Vrain Greenway – At Boston Avenue
  • St. Vrain Greenway – At Price Road
  • Dry Creek Greenway – At Grandview Meadows Drive
  • Dry Creek Greenway – At Airport Road
  • Dry Creek Greenway – At Hover Road
  • Left Hand Greenway – At Pike Road
  • Left Hand Greenway – At South Pratt Parkway
  • Left Hand Greenway – At Main Street
  • Left Hand Greenway – At Ken Pratt Boulevard
  • Left Hand Greenway – At Hover Road

Staff will inspect the greenways Monday morning to see if the underpasses can be opened up. Parks will have staff on call for the weekend for any issues that may arise. If you have any questions, please call 303-651-8416.
