Read a Good Beer Lately? Drank a Book You Just Couldn’t Put Down?

Books and beer may not seem like a natural marriage, but the Library and Oskar Blues are looking to change that perception. The two organizations have joined forces to launch a new series, “Books & Brews” on Saturday, August 24 from 2 to 3 pm at Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids at 1555 Hover St.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what kind of beer a good mystery novel might taste like or read a book you'd love to pair with the flavors of summer, this is the program for you! Come join our librarians as we delve into what good books taste like, the literary qualities of beer, and give your inner bookworm AND your taste buds something new to explore! This is not a book club in the traditional sense: participants will be focusing on how beer can highlight the reading experience, and vice versa. As a discussion group of book and/or brew enthusiasts, attendees are encouraged to bring their knowledge of favorite books and brews and share with others.

This is the first in a new quarterly series - watch for it at brew pubs around town. Because of the location, this program is for those 21 and older, but no registration is required, and absolutely no purchase is necessary to play. Just bring yourself, your friends, and your inner book worm.

The Friends of the Longmont Library generously support library programs and services.
