Library Adds Denver Zoo and Longmont Symphony to “Discovery Pass” Program
Free passes provide single day admittance to popular museums and more
With a little fanfare and much excitement, the Longmont Public Library has announced the addition of two much-requested attractions to its popular Discovery Pass program: the Denver Zoo and the Longmont Symphony Orchestra (LSO). Both are now available, along with 14 other local museums and destinations, as part of the Library’s program that provides free admittance for as many as seven visitors per day, depending on the organization’s rules. Each partner organization sets its own rules around the use of the Passes, but all can be reserved through a single online portal on the Library’s website, both in advance and on the day of admittance.
The new Passes are available just in time for the LSO’s next performance on October 5! The LSO offers a variety of musical performances throughout the year. Traditional and non-traditional musical styles present a wide range of musical experiences for all music lovers to enjoy! Concerts available through Discovery Pass are held at the Vance Brand Auditorium located in Skyline High School. Two Passes, each for two seats will be available for 6 of the LSO performances.
The Denver Zoo has been the Library’s most requested addition to the Discovery Pass program. Home to more than 4,000 animals representing 615 species, the Zoo is a local favorite with visitors of all ages. Two passes for up to four people each are available with the program, and users must present a valid ID at the Zoo entrance along with the printed pass.

Reserving a Discovery Pass is fast and easy. Just visit the Library’s website, locate the Discovery Passes page, decide which attraction to visit, and then click the “Reserve Your Discovery Pass” button to reserve the desired pass. Because destinations have varying operating days and hours, patrons are encouraged to review the hours and availability of the attraction before reserving a pass. Any patron with a Longmont Library Adult Resident library card can reserve a pass at no cost. Pass holders do not have to come to the Library to collect their pass, but a printed pass must be shown at the museum/venue entrance. Library staff are happy to print passes for patrons without access to a printer at home. Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance. One pass for each museum may be reserved once per calendar year (365 days from date of last reservation). Changes or cancellations may be made up to 24 hours in advance by calling the Library Reference Desk at 303-651-8472.
Discovery Passes offer Longmont Public Library patrons the chance to get out and learn in new environments. Knowledge may be power, but there’s no reason it can’t also be fun. So go discover what’s out there!
