Most City Facilities Closed on Monday
Longmont city government observes the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, February 17. All City facilities are closed except Recreation facilities and the Longmont Museum, which will be open regular hours. Trash, recycling and composting collection will be one day later than usual during the week. 

P&Z Meeting Moved to Longmont Civic Center
The February 19, 2020,  Planning & Zoning Commission meeting will be held at 7 pm in the City Council Study Session Room, Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St. Due to size of this meeting room, seating is limited. The Commission meetings will return to the Longmont Public Library March through May, while the City Council Chambers is under construction.  

Learn “All About Owls” at Sandstone Ranch
Join Recreation Services from 10:30 am to noon or from 12:30 to 2 pm on Saturday, February 22, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, to learn what makes owls different from other birds and raptors. (No live owls will be present.) There is a suggested donation of $2/child and $4/adult, collected at the event. All ages welcome! Please register at 303-651-8404. Free Legal Clinic
A free walk-in Legal Clinic will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, February 25, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. You can speak to attorneys at no charge about immigration law, criminal law, family law, collections, bankruptcy, employment law, fair housing, landlord/tenant law, consumer issues, personal injury, probate, and Social Security. Help With Human Services Assessment
If you live in Longmont we want to hear from you! Our residents have stories to tell, and these stories will help determine community needs. Your participation in a human services survey will make a difference in prioritizing programs for housing, community resources, human service needs, and more. Cheer for Longmont at the Winter Classic
Longmont Public Safety – Police and Fire – will take on the Fort Collins Police Blue Warriors at 11 am on Sunday, February 23, in a charity hockey game to benefit Cultivate, a nonprofit organization serving seniors. The event will be held at the Longmont Ice Pavilion, 725 8th Avenue, and there is a $10 suggested donation; children enter for free. Food will be available for purchase from Nacho Mama’s Tacos food truck.

Library East Entrance Remains Closed
The Library’s east entrance is closed through Friday, February 21, while the concrete walkway is repaired. The Library parking lot, exterior book drops, and outside elevator to the parking garage also are closed. Overdue fines on materials due during this period but returned late will be waived. 

What Do You Want From Your Library?
The City of Longmont is conducting a study to determine the future of the Longmont Public Library and is seeking input from the community. Five community meetings will be held this week at various locations, and a 10-minute online survey is also available. Visit bit.ly/LibraryFuture for details. Everyone’s opinion is helpful, and the City would like to hear from as many Longmont residents as possible.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day at the Ice Pavilion
Join Recreation Services for a fun-filled no-school Valentine’s Day open skate from 12:30 to 6:15 pm on Friday, February 14, at the Longmont Ice Pavilion, 725 8th Avenue. All couples receive one free skate rental with regular admission. Whether you’re a Rosy Couple or a Single Pringle, the first 50 customers receive their choice of a free rose or a snack-size can of Pringles! Call 303-774-4777 with questions.
