Boards and Commissions – Vacancies and Application

The Longmont City Council accepts applications for Boards and Commissions twice a year. Serving on a city advisory board is a great opportunity to make your voice heard and take a more active role in your community. Please consider applying!

The City of Longmont is accepting applications for several vacancies, now through October 17.

HOW TO APPLY:  Click on the blue button below to view ALL city board and commissions, then click on each board name to learn more. Boards with openings will display an “Apply for Membership” button in the upper right corner of the page.

  • An exception is the Longmont Housing Authority Advisory Board, which has a different application process (but the same deadline). Apply at bit.ly/lhaboard.

Please note: If you don’t receive a confirmation after submitting your application, please call the City Clerk’s Office at 303-651-8649.

With few exceptions, the meetings of City Council and any of its appointed boards are open to the public. Citizen participation is encouraged and welcomed at these meetings. Council and staff believe that the more involved citizens are in the early stages of program and legislation development, the better local government can meet the needs and expectations of the community.

Differences between advisory boards, quasi-judicial boards, task forces and committees are detailed below.
