The Community of Longmont spans 22 square miles and is packed with plenty of scenic views including 1,500 acres of parks. And with more than 300 days of sunshine, you can spend most of your free time enjoying the great outdoors. When night falls be sure to visit one of the many great restaurants in town.

 

  • Art in Public Places -Established in 1987, this program puts art on display all around the city.
  • Callahan House - This historic Victorian home given to the City of Longmont in 1938 by Thomas and Alice Callahan is a warm and lovely backdrop for elegant and memorable special events from dinner parties to weddings.
  • Sandstone Ranch - Found along the south side of Ken Pratt Blvd/ Hwy 119 east of Longmont, this 125 acre Community Park is one of Longmont's best sports park venues.
  • Union Reservoir - Union Reservoir is a 736 acre body of water providing many outdoor recreational activities. Originally called Calkins Lake, the reservoir was carved out during the last glacial age and is one of only a few natural lakes in Colorado.
  • Golf - Longmont boasts three public golf courses, making it easy and affordable to play a round of golf almost anytime.
  • Parks - With 25 neighborhood parks there are more than 192 acres of room to enjoy
  • Swimming - Get wet in Longmont's two outdoor and two indoor swimming pools
  • Fishing and Boating - The 736-acre Union Reservoir is joined by Golden Ponds and the St. Vrain Greenway as an angler's paradise. Don't forget about the remarkable Ralph Price Reservoir at Button Rock Preserve for a pristine adventure in a wildlife preserve.
  • skateboarding and BMX - For the teen who is jonesing to do an ollie or practice new moves, Longmont offers five skate parks where quarter pipes, grinding trails fun boxes await.
  • Walking, Running and Biking - With more than 42 miles of trails and greenways there's every reason to enjoy the great outdoors.
  • Skydiving - Longmont is one of the top skydiving destinations in the United States. A private company operates out of Longmont's Vance Brand Airport.
  • Skiing and Snowboarding - If you are yearning to hit the slopes visit one of 29 ski areas within a few hours of the city.
  • Art Viewing - Stroll this beautiful city and view some of the best public artwork in the state.
  • Museum and Cultural Center - This state of the art facility offers changing exhibits, education programs, summer camps, a music series, school programs and countless events.
  • Longmont Symphony Orchestra - Every year more than 15,000 people are treated to Longmont's award-winning orchestra performances.
  • Longmont Chorale - This community chorus has been charming audiences since 1936.
  • ArtWalk - On four fun-filled nights each year, the public can view works, see art being created, hear live music and engage in children's activities - all within the confines of the Downtown District.
  • Longmont Dance Theatre - In addition to recitals, three times each year the students put on performances for the public.
  • Jester's Theatre - A longtime fixture in the community, Jester's is family owned  and operated with a mix of fine dining and live entertainment.
  • Arts and Entertainment District - Downtown Longmont is a vibrant destination infused with arts, entertainment and cultural activities attracting people of all ages throughout the days and evenings.
  • Restaurants and Shopping - Longmont offers hundreds of options for finding that perfect gift and that scrumptious place to eat.
