Longmont Youth Council (LYC) has been working on the Anti-Vandalism campaign since 2013, now they want to take this project to another level. Longmont Youth Council is challenging youth between 6th grade and 12th grade that live in the City of Longmont to create a video (no longer than a minute) that will help to prevent vandalism and raise awareness of this growing issue in our community.
Download the Anti-Vandalism campaign guidelines, photo release and entry form. Entries will be due by 5pm on February 20, 2015.
The winner of this contest will receive a prize of 200 dollars and the second place will win a prize of 100 dollars. The winner will be listed on the Children Youth and Families website and may be featured in public places in the City of Longmont and on Longmont Channel 8.
Video Contest Guidelines:
- 45-60 seconds of footage
- Include definition of vandalism
- Complete application
- Film horizontally if using a phone
- Appropriate for all ages
- Be creative and have fun!
Longmont Youth Council Anti-Vandalism video Winners!
Longmont Youth Council is pleased to announce the winners of the Anti-Vandalism video. First Place was awarded to "The Mischief Marker" with Sami Powell, Jimena Manjarez and Kayla Harper. This was a group effort from a class from Trail Ridge Middle School. Second Place was awarded to "Do you really want to do that?" by Taylor and Rhett Sandal from Silver Creek High School.
