Neighborhood Leadership Series Trainings

Leadership is a key factor in creating positive community change, improving quality of life, and facilitating a stronger sense of community. The Neighborhood Leadership Series (NLS) supports current and aspiring community leaders in Longmont with the opportunity to enhance their skills through targeted training sessions.

All trainings are free and open to the public and held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue.

The NLS provides training and skills development for neighborhood leaders and HOA board members. See below for calendar and details:

Fair housing and service animal rules can be a complicated subject for HOA’s.  What can you regulate and what can’t you regulate?  Do you have to allow all animals?  Get all you questions answered in a fun presentation.

Whether you’re a long time NGLA leader, interested in organizing your neighborhood, or recently chosen to represent your neighborhood in NGLA, this session has something for you, including what is NGLA, the opportunities available, your responsibilities as a neighborhood representative, and answers to all your questions.

NIP Neighborhood Improvement Program Proposal Workshop
The annual NIP proposal workshop will cover everything you need to know to apply for a 2020 NIP grant, or if you just have questions about how to plan a project for future grant opportunities. Learn every step in the process and get all your questions answered. Neighborhoods that will apply for a 2020 NIP grant are STRONGLY encouraged to participate!

Managing your HOA’s finances is one of the most crucial and complicated aspects for boards.  Melissa Garcia will chair a panel to discuss two pivotal topics for every HOA, insurance and reserves.  How much do you need? How should they be used? Get your questions answered by the experts.

Melissa Garcia will lead a fun filled exploration of all things HOA’s and a few things Longmont.  Network with other HOA board members and test your knowledge in this fun event.  Or just learn allot from your peers.  Refreshments Served.
