Community and Neighborhood Resource has knowledgeable staff that can facilitate and provide technical assistance for individuals, neighborhood, community organizations and the City of Longmont in the on-going development of skills to create a atmosphere of inclusion for a diverse community of people who live, work and visit Longmont.
This assistance can be provided in a variety of ways:
- Cultural Conflict between neighbors, neighborhoods, community groups can be addressed by mediation or a facilitated discussion to open the lines of communication and begin to build a respectful understanding of difference or similarities.
- Cultural Awareness Technical Guidance or Referral: CNR can provide direction for groups or agencies seeking to promote educational presentations or discussions that build on mutuality, justice, equity. Culture and human behavior is not understood by a list or through a list of do’s and don’ts. Based on the needs of the group, we can provide technical assistance or an appropriate referral to assist groups in building a better understanding of different cultures and languages.
