 Callahan House During COVID-19 Crisis

Tuesday, March 24: All Recreation Facilities including the Callahan House will be closed through Sunday, April 19.

 In the interest of keeping residents and staff safe and healthy during the current public health crisis, the City of Longmont has closed many City facilities, including Recreation facilities, through Sunday, April 19.  

All Callahan House Clubs & private events scheduled through April 19 have been cancelled.

Additionally, all Recreation-organized programs; community events and community meetings; all community programs; programs, events and meetings organized by non-City entities that are held at Recreation facilities; and all community rentals of Recreation facilities, athletic fields and park shelters for public and private events will be cancelled effective through April 19.

Callahan House staff are still working at this time providing support for our clubs and our rental customers, cleaning and sanitizing the house, and preparing the facility for when we reopen. 

Answers to Your Questions

Will my club be allowed to meet during the closure?
Club meetings are cancelled as long as the facility is closed.  Clubs will be notified when meetings can resume. 

Will my private event be allowed during the closure?
Private events are cancelled as long as the facility is closed.  We will work with you to reschedule your event should the closure continue and/or refund any payments you have made for an event which can’t be rescheduled. 
 
Can I still reserve the Callahan House for future dates?  
We are still accepting reservations for future events. 

If my event is cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 Crisis will I receive a refund?  
Yes, if your event is cancelled you will receive a refund if we are unable to reschedule your event for a later date.

Callahan House & Garden

If you are looking for an intimate historic backdrop for your wedding, meeting, company retreat, special party or event, the Longmont's Historic Callahan House and Garden is the perfect place to create a memorable, affordable event.

Enjoy the gracious elegance of our charming Queen Anne style Victorian house with warmly decorated French interiors wrapped in a poetic Italian garden.

During the summer, the garden accommodates 150 guests who can celebrate amid flowers, statues, a fountain, a gazebo and dance on the large lawn under huge shade trees.

During the colder months, the house interior accommodates 40 to 45 sit-down guests and 80 open-house guests who can be warmed by ornately carved woodwork and parquet inlaid floors, and admire stained glass windows and floral and fruit painted walls in the French tradition.

The Callahan House is a historically designated home given to the City of Longmont in 1938 by honest and skillful merchants, Alice and Thomas Callahan. Learn about the Callahans and their history. The Callahan House is also host to several Special Events open to the community yearly. The garden is always open to the public when not booked for event.

Our mission is to preserve, maintain and promote the Historic Callahan House for the use and enjoyment of the Longmont community creating memories and providing a legacy for the future.
