Forestry


The City of Longmont has a licensing program for tree care contractors for several reasons, including to ensure:

  • tree maintenance is performed in a safe professional manner
  • proper tree care practices are utilized
  • environmental benefits derived from “urban trees” are maximized

Testing

The testing procedure to obtain a license includes several stipulations. A contractor must have general liability insurance at a minimum of $1,000,000 coverage, automobile liability insurance with a minimum $1,000,000 and workman’s compensation coverage, if applicable; all prior to testing.

Fees

There is a $60.00 fee to acquire a Tree Contractors License. License renewal consists of a $60.00 renewal fee payable at the beginning of each year.
