The Longs Peak Room, three stories up in the Longmont Museum, has a panoramic view from the mountains to the plains. It is an interactive gallery for the whole family, with a selection of local history books, an antique stereoscope, and drawers filled with objects from Longmont's history.
Children will enjoy the dressing up as buffaloes and and crows, animals with special meaning to native tribes of this region. You can also design your own wooden block "Main Street", and plan a town based on the original plan of Longmont. Magnet boards, a scrapbook, and more information on the history of the area are also available.
Ask at the Museum's Front Desk to check out binoculars for a close-up view from Longs Peak to the eastern edge of Longmont.
