NOTICE: Flood Repairs Ongoing

In September 2013, Longmont experienced the most devastating flash flood event in its history. The flooding caused extensive damage throughout Longmont. Many of our parks were impacted, but most repairs were completed by September 2016.

Some greenway trails remain closed; these trails will reopen as work is completed on the Resilient St. Vrain project. (Additional trail segments will be temporarily closed as Resilient St. Vrain work moves upstream through the city.) Check out the Trail Status Map for the most up-to-date trail closure information.

st-vrain-greenwayWhat is a Greenway?

For residents of Longmont and those in surrounding areas, a greenway (extended trail) serves as a sanctuary--an oasis from the noise and pace of everyday life. Weaving through parks and alongside rivers, creeks, ditches, and lakes, they protect neighboring wildlife areas, yet also provide opportunities for both environmental and recreational activities. They also serve as maintenance access for storm drainage functions throughout our city.
