TO BECOME A POLICE EXPLORER


The Longmont Police Department's Police Explorer program is for young adults ages 14-20 who are interested in the field of law enforcement. The role of a Police Explorer is to gain practical experience in policing, engage in a multitude of law enforcement activities and practice scenarios, experience positive leadership from adult and youth leaders and be given an opportunity to take on leadership roles and give back to the community. The program's emphasis is on student career opportunities, leadership experience, life skills, character education and community service.

Recruitment poster 2017 v2_400The police department is interested in students who have a history of giving back to the community, integrity, strong work ethic, good communication skills, as well as compassion and a commitment to the community. Interested students must complete an application; pass a personal interview, background investigation, and drug test. Students must have a 2.0 GPA.
