SCOPE relies on a great community of volunteers and sponsors to support individuals, teams and programs.  If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the SCOPE Office

Training and orientation available.  Background check required for all volunteers 18 & older.

Volunteer Descriptions

Coach - plans and leads practices and gameplay according to City of Longmont and Special Olympics rules; facilitates athlete learning by providing encouragement, support, instruction, drills, and corrective feedback; ensures athlete and partner safety; fosters a positive team environment; models good sportsmanship; assists program coordinator in completing all required paperwork for competition entry.  Coaches must complete the Class A Volunteer Application and other Special Olympics Colorado coaching requirements found at www.specialolympicsco.org/volunteer/coach, in addition to City of Longmont Volunteer training and orientation.

Partner - player without disabilities who plays alongside SCOPE athletes in practices and Special Olympics competitions; facilitates athlete learning by providing encouragement and support; models good sportsmanship; is a team player.  Unified Partners must complete the Class A Volunteer Application found at www.specialolympicsco.org/volunteer/unified-partner prior to competition play.
