Longmont Downtown Development Authority Announces Bigger Hearts, Stronger Streets to Support Local Businesses
Longmont City Council unanimously voted to approve single lane closures both north and southbound along Longmont’s Main Street beginning July 6. The closure will allow restaurants and retailers to expand outdoor dining and shopping.

Climate Action Task Force and Just Transition Plan Committee to Present Recommendations to City Council
The Climate Action Task Force and Just Transition Plan Committee have finalized recommendations on immediate and accelerated actions to address the climate emergency locally. They will present these recommendations to Longmont City Council at the June 30 and July 7 City Council meetings.

Longmont Recreation’s St. Vrain Memorial Building facility at Roosevelt Park will open the weight room to older adults ages 55 and up on a reservation-only basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 11am.

Sunset Pool will reopen its doors on Monday, June 22, on a reservation-only basis. As with the phased reopening of the Recreation Center and Centennial Pool, Sunset Pool guests will be asked to follow the general COVID-19 best practices as well as additional facility-specific guidelines.

The swim beach, dog beach and fishing pier at Union Reservoir will no longer be open for use beginning Saturday. The closures are a result of large groups not following the social distancing requirements of the statewide Safer-at-Home order.
