Summer camp at the Longmont Museum is filled with adventure and fun! Join us this summer and discover history, art, music, culture, science, and more in these hands-on camps. Camps average $10/hour or less!

  • Registration is available online or by calling the Museum at 303-651-8374 starting February 1 for members and February 8, 2020 for general public.

  • We have need-based scholarships available for summer camp! Download the application or call the Museum at 303-651-8374 for more information. Scholarships will be awarded beginning in mid-March.


Urban Wildlife Explorer

Track and learn about the furry, feathery, and scaly creatures that live right here in Longmont. Explore their habitats and discover the creatures' adaptations and behaviors. Test bodies of water for pollution and catch water critters. Camp will be held mostly outdoors in the natural areas surrounding the Museum. Bring your rainboots and be prepared to get messy!

Dungeons & Dragons Camp
Roll the dice and see what happens to your characters as we play fantastic role-playing games. Make a dice bag and other character props, create your character with back story, and learn how to weave a great narrative as the Dungeon Master.

Train your photographic eye to capture the beauty in the world around you. Learn how to take artistic photos and create short stop-motion movies. Make and use a pinhole camera and a camera obscura.

Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp
The virus is spreading, the grid is down: how will you survive? Recruits will learn modern day survival skills, off-the-grid living techniques, light-hearted combat training, weaponry, how to build a bug-out- bag, and cardio, so you can live to fight another day. Down and dirty fun held almost entirely outdoors.

Wild West Adventure
Embark on our classic Wild West Longmont Adventure! Treasure Hunters
Treasures are everywhere! In this camp we will make, hide, and find treasures. Create your own treasure box and fill it with gems, jewelry, and coins you have made. Go on scavenger hunts and solve puzzles to find the next clues. Discoveries await you!

Missoula Children’s Theater
Missoula Children’s Theater auditions, casts, rehearses, directs, and leads a musical adaptation of the classic tale of Johnny Appleseed in the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium over the course of a single week. Auditions and casting take place on day one, after which cast members begin an intensive rehearsal schedule. Camp also includes theatrical workshops with the instructors and a free-choice art studio. Camp will conclude with two special performances on Friday at 5:30 pm and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Purchase your tickets for the performances at the front desk ($8 for adults and $5 for kids).

Policies

To provide the best experience for everyone, all children must meet the age requirement at the start of the camp date. No exceptions.

Cancellations 

If a child cannot attend a camp, cancellation must be made at least two weeks prior to the session start date for a full refund. Cancellations made one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee, Cancellations made less than one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 75% cancellation fee. In the event the Museum cancels a camp, registration fees are refunded in full.

Confirmations

Because every camp is different, a packet containing all camp details will be emailed or sent to parents the week before camp starts.

Financial Aid

Need-based camp scholarships are available for Longmont resident children that meet the living wage qualifications in the scholarship application. Call the Museum for more information at 303-651-8374.

Member Discounts

Become a Member of the Museum and receive 10% off every camp! Children must be named on the membership in order to receive the discount for their camp registration.
