Summer camp at the Longmont Museum is filled with adventure and fun! Join us this summer and discover history, art, music, culture, technology and more in these hands-on camps.

Western Settlers 
Embark on our classic Wild West Longmont Adventure! Learn about Longmont's past while gathering trinkets for your “possibles” travel sack, panning for gold, playing pioneer games, and even meeting a mountain man. Camp is held at Old Mill Park in Longmont.

Digging Dinos
Do you have a dinosaur lover in your family? We'll be digging for fossils, crafting pre-historic creatures, playing games, and generally having a dinotastic week! This camp is a mixture of science, fun, learning, and art.

Look Who’s Living in the Trees!
This week you will learn all about insects, animals, and imaginary creatures that live in trees! We will build homes for birds, bees, bats, butterflies, fairies, elves, gnomes, and people too. This camp will utilize science and folklore to engage young naturalists in environmental stewardship.

Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp
The virus is spreading, the grid is down: how will you survive?  Recruits will learn modern day survival skills, off-the-grid living techniques, light-hearted combat training, how to build a bug-out- bag, and cardio, so you can live to fight another day. Down and dirty fun held almost entirely outdoors.

Worldwide Treehouse

Missoula Children’s Theater
Missoula Children’s Theater auditions, casts, rehearses, directs, and leads the performance of The Princess and the Pea at the Longmont Museum auditorium over the course of a single week. Auditions for 50 - 60 roles are cast on day one, after which cast members are invited back to begin an intensive rehearsal schedule leading to weekend performances. Campers will also play improv games, learn about costuming and stage makeup, explore set design, and more.

Surviving Out West
Don’t study history, live it! Learn the primitive and traditional skills needed to survive the Western frontier including cooking over an open fire, harvesting and gathering food, churning butter, whittling, stalking and tracking, shelter building and flint knapping. Policies

To provide the best experience for everyone, all children must meet the age requirement at the start of the camp date. No exceptions.

Cancellations 

If a child cannot attend a camp, cancellation must be made at least two weeks prior to the session start date for a full refund. Cancellations made one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee, Cancellations made less than one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 75% cancellation fee. In the event the Museum cancels a camp, registration fees are refunded in full.

Confirmations

Because every camp is different, a packet containing all camp details will be emailed or sent to parents two weeks prior to the camp start date. Please call the Museum at 303-651-8374 if you have not received a packet the week before camp begins.

Financial Aid

A limited number of camp scholarships are available for Longmont resident children enrolled in a lunch assistance program. Download scholarship applications in English or Spanish or contact the Museum at 303-651-8374 for more information.

Preregistration is required. Member registration opens March 12, 2018. General public registration opens March 19, 2018. Register online, by phone or in person. Camps are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
