Summer camp at the Longmont Museum is filled with adventure and fun! Join us this summer and discover history, art, music, culture, science, and more in these hands-on camps. 

Wild West Adventure
Embark on our classic Wild West Longmont Adventure! Learn about Longmont’s past while panning for gold, playing settler games, dressing up in wild west clothes, running a general store, making your own butter and ice cream, and even meeting a mountain man. Camp will be held mainly outdoors in the natural areas surrounding the Museum. Bring your rainboots and be prepared to get messy!

Mighty Mini Science Stars
Have fun while building and learning! Campers will create flashlights, catapults, a Newton Car, light sabers, and more. Projects in this camp emphasize STEM skills and can be easily and affordably recreated at home!

Missoula Children's Theater - FULL
Missoula Children’s Theater auditions, casts, rehearses, directs, and leads a performance of Pinocchio at the Longmont Museum over the course of a single week. Auditions for 50–60 roles are cast on day one, after which cast members are invited back to begin an intensive rehearsal schedule. Campers will also play improv games, create their own characters, and imagine and perform short skits. Camp will conclude with two special performances on Friday at 5:30 pm and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Purchase your tickets for the performances online or at the front desk ($8 for adults and $5 for kids).

Don’t study history, live it! Learn the skills needed to survive the Western frontier including cooking over an open fire, harvesting and gathering food, building a fort, whittling, stalking and tracking, shelter building, and flint knapping. To provide the best experience for everyone, all children must meet the age requirement at the start of the camp date. No exceptions.


If a child cannot attend a camp, cancellation must be made at least two weeks prior to the session start date for a full refund. Cancellations made one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee, Cancellations made less than one week prior to camp start date are subject to a 75% cancellation fee. In the event the Museum cancels a camp, registration fees are refunded in full.


Because every camp is different, a packet containing all camp details will be emailed or sent to parents the week before camp starts.

Financial Aid

A limited number of camp scholarships are available for Longmont resident children that meet the living wage qualifications in the scholarship application. Fill out a scholarship application in English or in Spanish (first come, first serve).

Member Discounts

Become a Member of the Museum and receive 10% off every camp! Children must be named on the membership in order to receive the discount for their camp registration.
