The Traffic Related News Releases list below provides a highlight of current and recent traffic closures submitted to and approved by the City of Longmont. Closures may be due to municipal projects, maintenance/improvement activities, and/or special events.

A full closure of the eastbound lane of Pike Road from S. Sunset Street to Kristy Court is planned to start Monday, May 11 to allow crews to safely conduct construction activities.
Work along 17th Avenue east of Main Street and along both sides of Main north of 17th Avenue begins Thursday, April 23. A full closure of 17th east of Main is planned for May 4-11. Collyer Street will be the detour route.
The road construction project will be completed in coordination with rail crossing improvement work by BNSF. Work is anticipated to last approximately six months.
Travelers along County Line Road north of 9th Avenue can expect traffic slowdowns beginning the week of March 9 as part of work on the Spring Gulch #2 Drainage and Trail Improvement project. A temporary road detour will go into effect and remain for about 6 months.
Each year, it’s inevitable that potholes form on our roadways. This is a result of Longmont’s seasonal freeze-thaw cycles, and this season’s heavy snowfalls in November and February have been especially hard on our roads.
